[Vtigercrm-developers] Vtiger V5.0.0rc1 install.php not working

Install.php is running to completion and reports success, but tables
don't appear to be created properly; the installation.log is full of
errors and I can't log in.

There are a lot of tables created in the vtigercrm5_rc database, and
there is an entry for id=1, user_name='admin' in the table vtiger_users.

BTW, why were all the table names prefixed with "vtiger_"?

Tips on where to start troubleshooting?
