 Hello,

 I am running version 5.0.3 and would like to know if their is a way to

 search for Users. Is there a reason why or a way to allow Users to be
 searched as well?

 Not a frequent requirement. Users module custom field support is not
 enabled through UI  - same is achievable through vtlib API.
