Comment:

 Although I tend to agree in spirit, the reality is that there is a clear
 need for external applications to log in using password instead of access
 key. A large, hard-to-remember access key is appropriate for automated
 systems, but impossible for a user.  Whoever designed your Mobile API [1]
 agrees with me.
