 consider three users with three roles, role1(user1) -> role2(user2) ->
 role3(user3)
 where role2 is subordinate of role1 and superior of role3.
 Follow these steps to reproduce
 (1) create a 'group' including all three users
 (2) assign few records(leads) to the users which is made private in
 sharing access and assign at-least one record to the 'group'
 (3) now either change the role of user3 to role2 or remove user3 from the
 group
 (4) recalculate sharing access
 (5) then log-in as user2 and check the list view of Leads, shows the
 records of user3 (may not display on first load, try refreshing the page)
