 Steps to reproduce this bug (on demo server):

 1) Convert a lead, creating a new potential. Notice that you do not have
 to fill in the 'Potential Close Date' even when it is mandatory field. Hit
 Save

 2) You will be taken to the Accounts page. Scroll down to 'Potentials'
 block, expand it, and click on the newly created Potential

 3) Edit the Potential

 4) Expected close date will show up as 0000-00-00, and you cannot save it,
 unless you set a valid Closing date.
