 Thanks Joe. Yes, you are right as ever :-) Disabling either the module or
 disabling the FAQ widget solves the problem.

 Yes, refreshing the boxes does work but only as long as you are logged in.
 You have to do it all over again next login.

 Someone has suggested where the bug is :

 Strange that if all I did was swap databases the problem occurred. No
 other files were touched.
