Comment:

 Layout Editor provides a way to disable fields that are not required.

 Language translations can be used if only the label has to be changed.

 $list_fields and $search_fields can be used to modify the fields that are
 allowed for searching in popup windows and fields that are shown in the
 List View of Popup window, respectively.
