 Why wouldn't vtigercrm's installer catch an exception that indicates an
 incorrect password, and handle the readable error message in the catch
 block? >> It is currently doing that. The message was redundant hence the
 action.

 Please reconsider whether patching the adodb source to suppress a
 legitimate error condition is what we want to do here.
 Any patch to adodb or any of the other snapshotted libraries will prevent
 distros from managing them as external dependencies.

 I stand corrected. Will see what can be done. Thanks for highlighting
 this. I did not consider this aspect at all.
